Maddie
Maddie
Poor little Maddie.
Her mummy and daddy
Did not take the care that they should.
They left her untended.
Their peace has been ended
And now they have lost her for good.
They went to the Pope.
Could he give them some hope?
Could his prayers bring a little girl home?
He might pray for her soul.
But he cannot control
The forces of evil that roam.
If their daughter’s alive,
She may prosper and thrive.
But she won’t be a child. Childhood ends.
And they’ve lost precious years
That have filled up with fears.
And all for a drink with their friends.
